The funeral of Mrs. Wayne Shelton who died suddenly Sunday morning after an illness beginning Saturday night was conducted at the home Tuesday afternoon, Rev. Kerr of Crawfordsville officiated at the service and burial was at Masonic Cemetery, Crawfordsville. The pall bearers were: John Johnson, Byron Johnson, Wallace Johnson, Ed Bryant, Roy Shelton and Sidney Shelton. Lida Ellen Green was born Dec 7, 1865 died Aug 27, 1916, making her 50 years 8 months 27 days. Her father, John R. Green and mother, Catherine Faust Green were the parents of 7 children, six girls and one boy. The five girls spent many happy years together. The two youngest Walter and Ottie preceded her ind eath many years ago. Four sisters are still iving: Mrs. Eva Johnson, Mrs. Anna Butler of New Ross, Mrs. Edna White of Urbana, Ill and Mrs. Joetta Russell who with her mother 77 years old are left to mourn her loss. As well as many nieces and nephews, relatives and friends. Her father died 23 years ago. She was married to W. Wayne Shelton July 7 1901. To this union were born 3 sons, Ivan, Alton and Eugene, whoa re left without the care and love of a mother. She was a charter member of the Smartsburg Christian Church, having united with the same under the preaching of Elder JA Johnson of Indianapolis, in Feb 1886. She was a faithful and devoted wife and mother, a loyal neighbor and friend and will be missed in the home and community where her cheerful disposition has left its imprint. - typed by kbz
